It's now possible to choose a default view in one's preferences. The view will be used if it is not already enforced for a particular explorer.
The view is not kept between two subsequent pages, (even of the same explorer) if it is changed directly in the explorer.
This setting is not kept in database currently. I am still thinking whether it is a good idea.
